Doosan Invests $121M in CCL Plant for AI Infrastructure

Doosan Corp. announced plans to construct a new copper-clad laminate (CCL) production plant in Thailand, investing 180 billion won ($121.7 million). The facility, covering approximately 73,000 square meters, will be located in the Araya Industrial Estate and aims to begin mass production by the second half of 2028. This plant is strategically designed to supply high-performance CCL vital for AI infrastructure and semiconductor applications amid rising global demand for advanced computing capacity.

The establishment of the plant reflects a significant shift in the technical landscape, potentially enhancing national AI capabilities by bolstering domestic manufacturing of crucial semiconductor materials. This move may reduce dependency on foreign technology as demand for high-performance CCL surges with the expansion of AI data centers.
