1. Wer wir sind
Global AI Watch is an intelligence portal operated by Global AI Watch, providing daily sovereign AI news, trend analysis, and event monitoring. Our registered place of business is in The Netherlands. Questions about this policy may be directed to privacy@global-ai-watch.com.
2. Informationen, die wir erfassen
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter or alerts.
- Usage data — anonymised page-view statistics (pages visited, session duration, referring URL) collected via privacy-respecting server-side analytics. No personal identifier is stored.
- Submitted content — if you use the "Submit News" form, we store the submitted URL, optional notes, and the timestamp.
- Server logs — standard web-server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then automatically deleted.
We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment details, or any sensitive personal data unless you expressly provide them.

4. Datenspeicherung
Global AI Watch uses strictly necessary cookies only — a session cookie to maintain your language preference. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics). No consent banner is required for strictly necessary cookies under EU ePrivacy rules.
If we ever introduce optional cookies (e.g., for convenience preferences), we will display a clear cookie consent banner and obtain your consent before setting them.
7. Dienste von Drittanbietern
We use the following sub-processors, each subject to their own privacy policies:
- Supabase (database & storage) — data hosted in the EU. supabase.com/privacy
- OpenAI (AI text analysis) — article content is processed to generate summaries and intelligence scores. We do not transmit subscriber email addresses to OpenAI. openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- Unsplash (article imagery) — images are served directly from Unsplash CDN. No personal data is shared. unsplash.com/privacy
- Vercel / server infrastructure — hosting provider operating in the EU/EEA.
We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We do not share data with advertisers.
8. Internationale Datenübertragungen
Our primary data storage is within the European Union. Where any data is transferred outside the EEA (e.g., to OpenAI in the United States), such transfers are made under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms in accordance with GDPR Chapter V.
4. Datenspeicherung
- Newsletter subscribers — email retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscribe your record is deleted within 30 days.
- Submitted news tips — retained for up to 12 months, then purged.
- Server logs — 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Anonymised analytics — aggregated, retained indefinitely (no personal data).
5. Ihre Rechte
If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is consent-based.
To exercise any right, email privacy@global-ai-watch.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
10. Sicherheit
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but commit to promptly notifying affected users of any confirmed breach in accordance with GDPR Art. 33–34.
9. Kinder-Datenschutz
Global AI Watch is intended for professional and general adult audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
11. Änderungen dieser Richtlinie
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the site homepage for at least 14 days before taking effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
