Spain Tops Wind Energy Potential in Europe

Spain has been identified as the leader in wind energy potential in Europe, with a technical capacity of 183.9 gigawatts (GW) according to the latest report from the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. The study, part of the ENSPRESO 2 series, highlights Spain's capability to generate 415.4 terawatt-hours (TWh) annually from wind energy, significantly surpassing other European nations like Romania and Sweden. Despite these favorable conditions, Spain grapples with administrative hurdles that inhibit the full use of its wind resources.
