Comstock Launches Data Center Unit to Meet AI Demand

US real estate firm Comstock has officially launched its Data Center Platform (DCP), entering the data center sector with plans for two major projects in the U.S. Partnering with Canadian energy firm Jericho Energy Ventures, Comstock aims to develop a site on approximately 18,000 acres in Oklahoma. They also have an agreement for a data center project in the Mid-Atlantic, reportedly involving up to 900MW of potential output. This move capitalizes on the rapid growth and demand for data centers amid the AI boom.

The establishment of the DCP signifies a strategic shift for Comstock, positioning itself in a high-demand sector driven largely by artificial intelligence growth. By leveraging partnerships, the firm looks to generate sustainable revenue streams while positioning the U.S. market to better cater to data needs associated with AI. This initiative could enhance local infrastructure capabilities and potentially lessen dependency on external data services, reinforcing national AI autonomy.
