Meta Partners with Nvidia for AI Chip Deployment

Meta Platforms has entered into a multi-year agreement to deploy millions of Nvidia processors, enhancing its AI infrastructure for both on-premises and cloud environments. This collaboration targets hyperscale data centers optimized for AI training and inference, marking a significant upgrade across Meta’s computational capabilities. The deal encompasses Nvidia’s current Blackwell generation AI accelerators and upcoming Vera Rubin AI platform, and includes the deployment of Grace CPUs to improve performance metrics.
This partnership is a strategic move for Meta as it invests heavily—up to $135 billion this year—into AI while deepening its ties with Nvidia, which is a vital supplier given Meta’s revenue contribution to Nvidia. The integration of Nvidia’s advanced networking devices and Confidential Computing technology will fortify data security while supporting expansive AI features, ultimately enabling Meta to deliver advanced AI solutions, albeit increasing its dependency on foreign tech resources.
