Intella Secures $12.5M for Arabic AI Transcription

Intella, a Saudi AI startup based in Riyadh, has successfully raised $12.5 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round. This round was led by Prosus, with additional participation from 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab, bringing Intella's total funding to $16.9 million, following a previous $3.4 million pre-Series A round.
This funding enables Intella to enhance its offerings in AI transcription services tailored for over 25 Arabic dialects, positioning the company within the growing Arabic language technology market. However, while this investment boosts AI capabilities in the region, it does not significantly shift the dependency on foreign technology as Intella primarily enhances linguistic accessibility rather than establishing sovereign AI infrastructures.
