Core Scientific Expands AI Data Center Capacity by 300MW

Core Scientific has successfully secured an additional 300MW of power capacity for its AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data center at the Pecos campus in Texas. This expansion marks a significant pivot from its original focus on Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure, with the initial capacity set to go live in early 2027. The expansion is supported by a total of 1.5GW of gross power planned for the site, with a portion already under contract with utility providers.
