UAE Closes 12 Illegal Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the closure of 12 domestic worker recruitment offices for operating without the necessary licenses. This action comes as part of a broader initiative to regulate the domestic worker recruitment sector, ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The ministry detected 300 violations throughout 2025, leading to legal measures against non-compliant offices that may include fines and license cancellations. Additionally, 230 illegal social media accounts promoting unauthorized recruitment services have been shut down in cooperation with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority.
These enforcement measures signify the UAE's commitment to safeguarding the rights of domestic workers and maintaining high standards in the recruitment industry. By enhancing regulatory oversight and encouraging compliance among recruitment agencies, the MoHRE aims to protect employers and families while promoting a safer working environment for domestic workers. Employers are urged to engage only with licensed offices to avoid legal repercussions and ensure the welfare of their hired help, reflecting the government's steadfast stance against unlicensed recruitment practices.
