Indian Navy Emphasizes AI-Enabled Warfare Insights

During the Ran Samvad 2026 in Bengaluru, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi discussed the ongoing conflict in West Asia, emphasizing the significance of real-time monitoring and the evolving nature of modern warfare. He pointed out that the unprecedented transparency of today’s battlespace underscores the vulnerability of military assets across all domains. The Admiral highlighted that traditional frameworks of warfare are shifting towards AI-enabled targeting systems, influencing decision-making cycles and raising complexities around cognitive warfare.

Admiral Tripathi articulated the Indian Navy's strategy for adapting to these shifts, focusing on building a networked, resilient, and integrated naval force. This includes enhancing the use of uncrewed systems and developing indigenous combat management systems that interlink various military assets. The emphasis is not solely on technological advancement but also on maintaining human oversight in decision-making processes, ensuring that while AI tools enhance capabilities, they do not replace critical human judgment in strategic operations.
