The breach was traced back to a Vercel employee utilizing the AI tool Context.ai, which allowed the attacker to exploit the company’s Google Workspace account and access sensitive environments.

CEO Guillermo Rauch indicated that the assailant demonstrated advanced tactics, possibly leveraging artificial intelligence to execute the breach.
