Google Commits $40B to Anthropic for AI Development

On April 24, Alphabet announced a substantial commitment of up to $40 billion to Anthropic, the AI research company behind the Claude model. This investment comprises $10 billion in immediate funding along with an additional $30 billion tied to future performance, coupled with a significant supply of 3.5 GW of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) over a five-year period for enhanced AI capabilities.
