Soluna Expands Capacity with Blockware in Texas Deployment

Data center firm Soluna has expanded its partnership with Bitcoin mining company Blockware, leasing 3.3MW of capacity at the Project Dorothy 1B site near Amarillo, Texas. This deal represents Blockware’s fourth expansion with Soluna, bringing its total deployed power capacity to 17MW across various sites. The agreement aligns with Soluna's focus on providing renewable-powered infrastructure for both AI and cryptocurrency mining operations, highlighted by the acquisition of a 150MW wind farm for sustainable energy supply.
The growth of this partnership indicates significant strides in the development of renewable energy solutions tailored for high-performance computing and generative AI workloads. With Project Dorothy 3 in the pipeline and a potential capacity of over 300MW, this initiative underscores a strategic shift towards enhancing national AI infrastructure, ultimately increasing autonomy in technology and reducing reliance on foreign capabilities. Soluna's commitment to expanding AI infrastructure suggests a focused effort to position itself in the evolving landscape of sovereign AI and modern computing demands.
