SK Group Initiates AI Data Center Project in Vietnam

SK Group has forged partnerships in Vietnam to enhance its international AI strategy, particularly focusing on the establishment of AI data centers. Through its subsidiaries SK Telekom and SK Innovation, the conglomerate signed memorandums of understanding with the National Innovation Center (NIC) and the Nghe An Provincial government. This initiative involves assessing the feasibility of a data center project in Nghe An, leveraging energy supply from an SK-led LNG power project.

This marks a significant step for SK Group as it aims to transform into an AI full-stack provider. The agreements focus on developing not just AI infrastructure but also the regulatory environments necessary for the industry’s growth. By facilitating energy solutions and fostering collaborations, SK Group's initiatives are expected to elevate Vietnam's AI capabilities, thereby bolstering its role in the regional AI landscape and reducing potential foreign dependency in AI technology.
