BlockchAIn Plans $9.9B for 715MW AI Data Center Portfolio

BlockchAIn Digital Infrastructure has announced ambitious plans to develop a comprehensive data center portfolio across the United States, with a proposed capital expenditure of approximately $9.9 billion for a total of 715MW capacity. The initiative will span nine sites, including strategic locations in South Carolina, Minnesota, and Texas, catering to the increasing demand for blockchain, AI, and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The company’s operational facility in South Carolina currently hosts 40MW, transitioning to accommodate AI workloads, with additional projects set for completion by 2028.
This significant investment reflects a growing trend in prioritizing data sovereignty by enhancing national infrastructure for AI capabilities. Through a modular and liquid-cooled approach, BlockchAIn aims to support high-density computational tasks efficiently while allowing customers to provide their own AI hardware. With plans to energize multiple sites through 2028, this development will not only bolster the U.S. data center landscape but also potentially reduce reliance on international tech infrastructure, aligning with broader national strategies for data autonomy.
