NIST Allocates $3M to Advance AI and Semiconductors

The U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has earmarked $3.19 million for eight small businesses in seven states through its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. This Phase II funding aims to facilitate research and development in critical areas including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, semiconductors, and quantum technologies. Selected projects will enhance medical imaging, drug manufacturing processes, and improve technological infrastructure over a 24-month development period.
