Meta Unveils MTIA 400 to Compete with Nvidia by 2027

Meta has announced the MTIA 400, its latest AI accelerator chip, which has successfully completed lab tests and is set to enter the field soon. This new chip, part of the Meta Training and Inference Accelerator series, aims to run pre-trained AI models, particularly optimizing generative AI tasks. By 2027, Meta plans to roll out two additional generations that could outperform comparable chips from AMD and Nvidia in specific applications.
