Meta Partners with Amazon for CPU-Driven AI Infrastructure

Meta Platforms has entered a multi-billion dollar partnership with Amazon to utilize tens of millions of Graviton CPU cores over the next three to five years. This marks a strategic shift as CPUs, previously overshadowed by GPUs, are regaining importance in AI infrastructures, particularly for cost optimization and enhancing agentic AI capabilities. AWS Graviton5 chips, manufactured using 3nm technology, were selected for their favorable price-performance ratio, a critical factor as demand for scalable AI increases.
