Unitree Introduces G1 Robot for Airport Baggage Handling

Unitree Robotics has launched the G1 humanoid robot for a pilot program at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, working alongside Japan Airlines to assist in baggage handling. The G1, standing at 1.32 meters and weighing 35 kg, is designed to perform lighter tasks, handling loads of up to 3 kg per arm. This initiative responds to a significant labor shortage in Japan, where an aging population has left many positions unfilled.

The deployment of the G1 robot marks a strategic shift towards automation in a labor-intensive industry facing workforce challenges.
