EU Selects French Providers for Sovereign Cloud Initiative

The European Commission has finalized its selection of four providers for a sovereign cloud initiative valued at approximately €180 million, which will span six years. The chosen consortiums include CleverCloud, OVHcloud, and StackIT, among others, aiming to equip European institutions with cloud services that meet specific sovereignty requirements. These services were selected following a recent tender aimed at reducing reliance on non-European technology providers, ensuring enhanced security and compliance under EU laws.
