NASA has successfully employed a machine learning tool named AnomalyMatch to analyze images from the Hubble Space Telescope, identifying over 1,400 unusual cosmic objects. This analysis marks a significant methodological shift, as it bypasses traditional manual image inspection, significantly reducing the time needed to sift through NASA's historical data archives, which span over three decades. The study, led by ESA scientists David O’Ryan and Pablo Gómez, revealed that more than 800 of these anomalies had not been documented in previous scientific literature.
