Evolution DC Secures Lease for 52MW Ho Chi Minh City Data Center

Evolution Data Centres has finalized a significant lease agreement for a 5-hectare land parcel in the Saigon Hi-Tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City. This lease allows the development of a 52MW data center, marking it as Vietnam's largest planned single-site data center to date. With a $500 million investment allocated, this facility dwarfs Evolution's existing 4.75MW Hanoi data center.

This development enhances Vietnam's digital infrastructure, attracting more foreign investments into the nation's tech sector. Zero Two's involvement signifies strategic interest from the Middle East in Vietnam's growing data center market. This could shift leverage towards Vietnam as a regional hub for data and IT services, while simultaneously increasing its reliance on global investors and technology partners.

The data center is expected to go live by Q4 2027, potentially prompting policy enhancements around foreign tech investments in Vietnam. The involvement of Warburg Pincus and Zero Two may encourage more international investors to explore similar opportunities in Vietnam, potentially igniting a wave of data center developments in Southeast Asia.

Such a large-scale project could require substantial imports of specialized equipment, benefiting suppliers in the tech and construction sectors.
